Tina Fontaine was 15 years old and pregnant when she disappeared in the summer of 2014. Her body was found wrapped in a duvet cover and weighed down by rocks in Winnipeg’s Red River several days after she was reported missing. The case reignited calls for a national inquiry into missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.

Raymond Cormier, who stood accused of second degree murder for her death, was found not guilty by the jury in a shocking three week long trail.
