Man is eligible for parole in 12 years after killing CJ Fowler who he knew to be pregnant. The 16-year-old girl was murdered hours after she and her killer/boyfriend learned she was pregnant.

“B.C. Supreme Court Justice Dev Dley said the “sheer brutality and savagery of the attack” on Fowler calls for protection of the public from Taylor as well as denunciation of his crime.”

Defence lawyer Don Campbell blamed crystal meth. He argued for a sentence of 10 to 12 years before parole.

The 24-year-old man who killed his pregnant girlfriend with a chunk of concrete nearly four years ago will serve at least 12 years in jail before he is eligible for parole. He has already been in custody for 4 years, which means he will likely be out of jail by the time he is 32.

Crown prosecutor Alexandra Janse argued for a sentence in the upper range of 13 to 15 years, arguing Fowler was only 16 years old, pregnant and vulnerable.

The judge thought 12 years was appropriate sentence for this crime.
