Cari Lynn Gaulton was two and a half months pregnant when she and her preborn child were brutally killed.

The Crown prosecutor said, “He killed not only her but the fetus growing inside her. He knew she was pregnant and that she was carrying his child.”

The presiding judge called it the “ultimate manifestation of domestic violence.”

He was sentenced to “life” with no eligibility for parole for ten years.

Six years later  the man (who killed Cari Lynn Gaulton and the child she was carrying) was out on parole.

Looks like the absolute minimum sentence in Canada can translate into an even shorter one than issued by the judge.
