Amanda Power was killed May 30, 2008 in St. Johns, Newfoundland. On June 6, part of her torso was found in a suitcase in a backyard by a group of children near her apartment.

Her killer pleaded guilty to murdering his girlfriend and then cutting apart the body.

He was already awaiting a judge’s decision on assault and other charges previous to the murder of Amanda Power.

This man who strangled 29 year old Amanda Power – dismembered her body and disposed of most of her body parts (he kept her head in a plastic bag in his freezer) – will be eligible for parole in 17 years.
